Celebrating my birthday under the August full moon
Hi Reader,
Summer is a season that invites us to be playful, to revisit the boundaries we’ve set for ourselves. The long days offer more hours of light and a sense of safety, giving us the freedom to go further than ever before and discover new horizons.
Summer is also the season of my birthday. This year, I celebrated under the August full moon and the meteor shower. I invited people to dare, to dance, to play, and to connect in new ways.
We still have a few more weeks of summer, and we can choose how to stretch ourselves—to dare, to try something new and unexpected, and to uncover another part of who we are. How will you choose to play? I’ll be sharing a few ideas here for expanding play and embracing full self-expression.
I hope you enjoy the read! Gal

The 7 Areas of Growth in Life: A Framework for Impactful Reflection & Growth
Have you ever wondered how you might reflect on your experiences and growth in a truly impactful way? One powerful approach is to adopt a categorical mindset—dividing your life into distinct areas that invite focused reflection and intentional growth.
I invite you to explore the seven arenas of life and see your journey through a new lens.
Zygmunt Bauman was a Polish sociologist and philosopher best known for his concept of “liquid modernity,” describing the fluid, uncertain, and rapidly changing nature of contemporary society.
"In today’s world, everything is fluid—social relationships, work, identities, even values. What was once solid and stable has now become liquid, and this has created a crisis of meaning. People are expected to constantly adapt, to change, to evolve, and to keep moving in a world where stability is increasingly difficult to achieve. In this liquid modernity, individuals struggle to find a sense of rootedness, to create a lasting sense of identity. Fulfilment becomes elusive because life is now about short-term goals, temporary achievements, and fleeting connections. The challenge of modern life, therefore, is to find ways to create meaning and purpose in a world that values impermanence. True fulfilment comes not from seeking permanence in a changing world, but from the ability to adapt, to engage meaningfully with others, and to find personal coherence amidst the chaos of modern existence."
― Zigmund Bauman, Liquid Modernity
A question to ask ourselves: How do I currently respond to change — with resistance, fear, or curiosity? What gives me a true sense of meaning & fulfilment — beyond short-term achievements? What remains constant in me, even as roles, environments, and identities change?

Burning Man: An Experience To Be lived
Art Installation 'Love', Created by Alexandr Milov
I’ve had the privilege of both experiencing and leading a camp at Burning Man several times between 2006 and 2013, and each time it proved to be an inspiring journey that stretched my imagination and invited me to dream bigger.
Burning Man is a fascinating social experiment in the sharing economy, collaboration, and radical self-reliance. The scale of creativity is staggering: towering art installations rising from the desert floor, intricate sculptures that seem to move with the wind, and unforgettable collective musical experiences. From sunrise DJ sets that welcome the day to late-night soundscapes beneath a sky full of stars, every moment is alive with rhythm, expression, and connection.
This year, Burning Man takes place from August 24 to September 1, 2025, in the Black Rock Desert, Nevada. It’s an experience everyone should live at least once in their lifetime, and I can’t recommend it enough. For a glimpse into its magic, check out the beautiful cinematic video that was recently released.
