Issue #18

Hi Reader,

The shift in nature from winter to spring is so vivid and dramatic—it’s affecting us all. In the article attached to this newsletter, I explore the fascinating relationship between nature and culture in the context of spring.

For me personally, the transition from winter to spring has been eventful: from teaching Core #102 in London to absorbing powerful ideas at the TED Global Conference in Vancouver, held under the inspiring theme of Reimagining Humanity—something I look forward to sharing more about soon. I’m also spending quality time with family, embracing a full celebration of self-expression and the fresh energy of the season.

Something To Explore

Rooted Within, Blooming Without. 7 Key Insights We Can Learn From Spring.

As spring breathes new life into the world around us, it also invites reflection and renewal within. In this piece, we explore how cultures across the globe have celebrated spring for centuries—and what nature can teach us about our own cycles of growth and transformation.

Something To Reflect On

A Quote by William James

"We cannot simply accept the assumptions that life has given us—about our own worth, about how the world works, or what constitutes a ‘successful’ life. Mental resilience is not achieved by following prescribed paths but by confronting the questions that arise within us. What do I believe in? What do I seek? Where is my life headed? These are the fundamental questions that, if left unasked, will leave us with a sense of dissatisfaction and inner turmoil. In the modern era, we are often faced with societal pressures to fit into pre-determined roles, and this can lead to a crisis of identity. But it is precisely in the act of questioning the roles we’ve been handed and daring to forge our own path that we achieve personal fulfilment. We must not merely accept what others tell us; we must probe the deepest aspects of our own desires and beliefs. Only through this process of self-inquiry and reflection can we find the true meaning and purpose that sustains us in the face of life’s inevitable challenges."
William James

A question to ask ourselves: What assumptions have I made about life? What assumptions made by society do I fully buy into and never question? When was the last time I took time for deep self-inquiry? What do I believe in? What do I seek? Where is my life headed?

Something To Experience

Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan

I had a fantastic and inspiring time exploring the World Expo in Dubai a few years ago. It truly felt like I was traveling to more than 100 countries in just a few days. This unique global event takes place every five years, and I highly recommend experiencing it.

Japan will host the next World Expo in Osaka, Kansai, from mid-April to mid-October 2025. Osaka is expecting to welcome 28 million visitors to the event, which will focus on the theme Designing Future Society for Our Lives. Around 150 countries and 25 international organizations are expected to participate.

The exhibition will explore how we can shape a future society in the face of major global challenges such as climate change and health—issues that deeply affect our quality of life. At the heart of Expo 2025 Osaka lies a powerful question: What is the happy way of life?
